I am starting to hate my girlfriend after she told me she is a recovering Meth addict. I think Junkies are disgusting, even more than single mothers, and the fact she hid this from me for 2 years just makes me sick. she doesn't even look like a junkie, she looks normal and supposedly clean, but i am starting to view her differently

i don't know if i should back out of the relationship before its too late

Doesn't sound like she was "hiding it," it sounds like it took two years to build enough trust for her to tell you this detail about her past. If the relationship has been good otherwise, there may not be a problem. It's up to you to decide if the risk of her relapsing is worth the relationship.

Does this work the same if at the beginning of the relationship where it’s arguably “official” or not, say she did things that were questionable?

        Depends on what she did.

Just gonna say man, its counterintuitive sometimes, but the greenest flag there is is someone who demonstrates an ability to make difficult life changes requiring sustained effort and vision.
Quitting smoking, getting fit, finishing a degree, whatever it is.
Everyone makes mistakes, smart well meaning peolle even fall into traps, but most people live life on a loop devoid of self awareness and reflection and transformation.

I get ahe used to be a meth addict, but the will required to kick it and escape that lifestyle is powerful.enough that if she seems fine otherwise, shes a highly dependable person.
Jus throwing that out there for ya.

Not saying anything isnt the same as hiding. If she was still on meth and lying, thats hiding. If you asked if.shed ever been an addixt and she lied, thats hiding.

Other than that, and this is quality life advice you should consider as well: if something about you can be used against you and isnt really all that relevant, you keep it to yourself.

dump her ass, obviously not marriage material. she could run off and go on a meth binge at any time, and all your effort in the relationship is as good as garbage.

How the hell do you get 2 years into a relationship before you learn that. You should know everything by then. Imagine what shes not telling you. She turned tricks for drugs.
Dont listen to she was hiding it. Meth makes people do some seriously fricked up sexual shit.

I know a lot of people who did meth, they're pretty normal. It's very similar to Adderall and speed so workers like it plus it's cheap. Super shit comedown though

I say dump her, she doesn't deserve judgement especially if she quit

Meth is like coke. It produces such a large chemical imbalance when taken in recreational doses that your body never really recovers. Nothing in your regular life will feel nowhere as good as when you use those drugs.
Now, imagine living with this feeling all the time for the rest of your life. That's why relapses in this sort of addiction are so common.
I dont think hiding it is really the problem as you cant really blame her for doing that, but you will always have this sword of damocles hanging over your head while you're with her.

you know you can get a prescription for meth? it's not even schedule I

        > It produces such a large chemical imbalance when taken in recreational doses that your body never really recovers
        >when taken in recreational doses
Learn to read ffs. Therapeutical meth is usually 5mg while recreational can go as high as 800mg. And yes, even in small doses its dangerous.

I don't think that's true. The body does recover. It takes time. People can live life after.

    >You can't make any mistake ever.
    >You have to be perfect, like me!

Respectfully, get off your high horse. We don't have all the details around her recovery and her chance of relapse, but just based on the information you've provided here, you're being a fricking princess about it. I have literally never had a drug stronger than alcohol or weed, so it's not like I'm defending your girlfriend by proxy of my own habits. It's just a matter of not being a "holier than thou" dumbass about it and understand that everyone has different circumstances. No one wakes up one day and says "I'm gonna do meth, tee hee!" it usually comes as a coping mechanism for other shitty life circumstances. The fact she has made a conscious effort to move away from it speaks volumes about her character and that she is someone capable of self-reflection and improvement, which very few people in this world are actually capable of.
