Yeah and what happens when monopolies form? Giant corporations like mcdonalds can afford to move into town and sell for cheap until they choke out the local stores and then jack up prices. I've literally seen it happen in my home town. Diner served cheap amazing food for 50 years and then mcdonalds moved in took a lot of their business with promotions. After the diner closed they jacked up their prices and stopped raising pay for the workers.

Thank God they started drilling for natural gas and some money and jobs came into the town.

Funnily enough, I realized that capitalism will inherently always fail because of the lack of consumer responsibility. Almost nobody cares about spending wisely, not supporting bad consumer practices, etc. It's what leads to companies controlling people, the squeeze of the dollar, and most general inequities we see. If people simply treated spending their money as something to do with wisdom and conviction, so many issues would be solved. It lead me to realize that good regulation is actually the only way anything can truly improve, but even that is usually twisted and abused in of itself.

You are right and it's a big reason why giving women rights & money was a mistake. Women do most of the consumer spending and they do not care about the consequences of giving all their money to the rich or to overseas slave plantations that will never contribute a penny to the domestic economy.

      Anonymous

Prices are inflated on UberEats, same Big Mac probably costs $6.50 in the McDonald's app. If you sign up for rewards you can also get coupons like 25% off $5+.

Anyone complaining about inflation the last couple years, if you want to see an instant 10-15% drop in takeout prices just stop being a moron and using delivery apps. Even before all the fees and tips they still rape you.

          Yes.

Biggest ripoff ever. Even with what happened to grocery prices over the last couple years, you can cook better meals at home for 1/5 the cost of having it delivered. And you still don't have to leave your house (other than once a week or whatever to buy groceries, or hell have those delivered if you're that lazy).

For pizza the ingredients aren't all that expensive but to do it right, you really need an oven that gets hotter than the standard oven people have in their homes.

            Anonymous

I won't claim it's going to compare to some fancy pizzeria, but pizza is piss easy to make at home and my shitty apartment over that only gets up to 450F seems to do fine. Certainly as good or better than anything from most chains.

Pizza hut still pisses me off, $50 for 2 Lg pan pizza's and a double order of breadsticks, $30 of that is the food the rest is fees and tip and shit. • 4 weeks ago

Grocery prices certainly have increased but nowhere near as much as restaurant prices. Also the price increases at the grocery store have been more for processed foods than for ingredients to make meals, though obviously both are up. Still, chicken leg quarters a less than $0.80/lbs most places and you get about 70% yield from them.

Also I promise McDonald's isn't using some fancy grass-fed, organic ground beef for their burgers, so don't use the $8/lb shit at Whole Foods to justify eating out and not cooking at home.

That's not what the tracking is about. McDonald's doesn't really care where you live or where you go. They sell your location data (the app installs itself as a mapping app so even when not in use, it still tracks you in the background) to brokers who then sell it to anyone interested, including the government. McDonald's doesn't care that you spend time at the house of someone who frequents Stormfront but the government sure is interested in knowing that. Everywhere you go, everyone you meet, all in the hands of the government so you can get fifty cents off of an order of french fries.

It's a luxury now in the United States. The prices are high enough that it's outside the realm of being for broke people. They're riding off of decades of positive associations people have built up with them.
Broke people eat Del Taco or Jack in the Box.

I don't understand why people pay for Starbucks or Bubble Tea. I mean seriously you can eat decently for a day with price of a flat white. I'm a NEET on pretty good Neetbux, but I never buy a Starbucks ever, I eat well have savings. But I see plebs sucking on a bucks every day, the high street, town centers and shopping centers are full of them. I just don't understand.

I eat McDonald's because it tastes good. I know it's not healthy but i don't care. I'm 400lbs and live off welfare. My life is effectively over. I will eat myself into the grave and enjoy every minute of it.

Gluttony is in general a venial sin in so far forth as it is an undue indulgence in a thing which is in itself neither good nor bad. Gluttony becomes a mortal sin is if you eat so much you become ill, or if you wear down your health over time.

I'll just switch the Carl's Jr if they expect me to pay the same prices. Their burgers are far better than mcyaks anyway.

    AND THEY STILL BUY IT!
    THEY STILL BUY IT!
THEY COMPLAIN AND COMPLAIN AND STILL BUY IT!
This is why America is actually boring as frick. We're just a bunch of fricking cattle that eat our slop, work the wagie job, give a thumbs up, and then sleep on a bed we're paying monthly for.
I love America for the good things, I mean I'm grateful we HAVE Big Macs, but god damn the people here are brainless cattle. They have to be putting something in the water.
