I wish I could have a cute girl with similar interests as me. But they always have a swarm of simps around them so it's no use to try anyway

Plenty of ugly simpless cosplayers around. Stop searching for the hot ones that are out of your league.

Actually that's a lie. I did manage to get one girl to add me on discord and I gave her a 100 dollar Amazon gift card, but that was it.

You would think so right? This would be the nerds wet dream would it not?
That is however not the true outcome. The same bullies and women that once shunned the people interested in it does instead take over the hobby. Autists are not welcome in these spaces anymore

The inclusion of normies means more profits, attracting bad actors who will insert their moronic philosophy and ideology into the medium as a means to simultaneosly attract more customers while also intentionally alienating the core fanbase. Tevelvision, games, the internet, and now anime have all followed this exact same trajectory.

That's a you problem, thinking anime wasn't moronic before. It's child stuff.

I see girls doing pretty provocative cosplay with no way to receive donations while in a happy relationship. So I don't think it's about money or attention, they just enjoy dressing as characters they like.

    >Is cosplaying an actual interest for women
sure, why wouldn't it be? it takes a lot of talent and craftsmanship to make an accurate, good looking cosplay, so it's hardly a shallow hobby.
    >just a way for them to get attention and money
it's probably that way for some, but it's pretty easy to tell which is which. I mean, all cosplay is designed to be appreciated at cons and stuff, right? I don't see why that should be looked down upon. But if the cosplay is clearly meant to attract sexual attention, that's where I'd make note.
