Yeah, they're attention seeking b***hes and they probably though that you're avoiding them because you feel better or some mental gymnastic like that

avoiding looking at girls I don't know in public
Why? Would it hurt to smile at them?

uni has been hard past 2 years so I need all the focus I can get. avoiding looking at them makes me less horny so I'm generally more focused

I smile at cute girls (just genuine reaction not for them), but even I'll say you need to be silly to smile at a woman that's not even remotely trying to be cute.

If she has a "resting" mean face/dresses like a normie she gets no smile and no attention.

Nta but I’m afraid girls will call me creepy if I smile at them

It really depends on how you do it. I don’t mind if a guy smiles as he passes by, but a prolonged, intense stare is too much. No one likes to be gawked at.

I wouldn’t be able to stare at you lol. When I make eye contact with cute girls I don’t know I instantly look away by habit. However if we’re talking I’m strangely able to maintain good eye contact

Decrease the amount of time you look down while passing people by 1% each day. Then increase the amount of time you look at their face. What are they going to do about it?
You'll be surprised at the result. 90% of people will do the same behavior like look down, side to side, pull out their phones to check nothing, etc, before they even see you looking for more than a glance.
This will help your confidence in feeling like you deserve to be part of society, not from entitlement but from self-esteem.

Depends on the woman, and sometimes even just the time. Honestly safest to keep avoiding looking. Some women completely fly off the handle about perceived ogling.

Same here. This one woman at work (objectively one of the prettier co-workers) always has to surround herself with men. When I first started working I tried to be polite and she would treat me like the other guys. But something about the way those guys acted around her irritated me. In a blatant display of beta male behaviour I stopped talking to her (I would usually say hi or good morning to her before she said it to me). Now she goes out of her way to greet everyone in the room except me, she buys breakfast and offers to everyone except me, and she glances at me before quickly turning away.

I honestly don't care. But some people just want attention. And if you don't give it to them they'll show you their true colors.

      Anonymous

And I realize I come off like an butthole but I have to stress I would be the one to initiate any greeting. I simply stopped initiating and would focus on my work or phone when she walks into a room. After the first week of doing this she tried once or twice to initiate a hi and I would give her a nod back in greeting but i promise there was nothing more than that. I just find it funny how she treats me like someone who shit themselves in the middle of a room simply because I didn't want to be another workplace simp. OP. Women expect attention. Don't give it to them. You're not required to.

while in principle you are right , this is a case in knowing which battles are worth fighting and which aren't. The idiot is you here.

Some women like to feel in control, they view men as their pets especially these boss babe types. My question - who fricking cares if I get free donuts out of it? My point being that if there is only upside and all you have to do is be polite at the front door, play dumb, move up the chain and mind your own business.

You made your life unnecessarily difficult, low iq move. If you're implying there's some HUUUUGE dog and pony show you have to do after that then I can see your hesitation.

        Anonymous

I disagree. I have enough friends and pass enough people without so much as a nod in greeting. I know it's probably sour grapes but I genuinely don't like women who surround themselves with men. Not because I'm sexist. But because I don't like what the women bring out of the men. There's being chivalrous. And then there's being a goofball

my funniest story of the past 3 months, my team (had) one female in charge of developing one tool, she gets asked to discuss the tool to stakeholders in a meeting, she brings along the most pathetic looking man i've ever seen to that meeting and he sits there nodding the entire time, apparently she picked this guy out of the corner of the office (not on our team) to help her with development FOR FREE and the guy was working on the tool AT HOME for her... lmfao... some men are desperate for a below-average fattie... she quit in an angry tirade just a couple weeks ago because she wasn't getting help on her tool, good riddance, she was a b***h and brought the all-boys club mood down in every conversation

All of the autists, myself included, avoid eye contact so your post checks out. You don’t have to worry because 99% of women hate autistic men anyway. Nothing lost.

I look exactly like the guy in green (maybe a little better looking) and no woman has ever approached me to compliment me. They linger around me at expecting to be complimented. They have a hard line on not initiating contact, lest a man think they’re valued.

Changing your personality, you literally just have the new personality instead of the old one.

        It's called "confirmation bias"

        1. You get this feeling randomly
        2. You check and they are actually looking
        3. You have the thought 'It seems I somehow sensed that they were looking'

So far so good. These things all follow from each other like a falling ball bouncing for the third time follows from it bound for the second time, which follows from it bouncing for the first time.

        But then:
        4. You get the thought "When someone looks at me, it directly causes the feeling of being looked at".
This is exactly the same thing as saying "a ball bounces for the first time because it will later bounce for the third time".
Hopefully my explanation can help you understand

Have you seen what some of these bawds wear? They want you to jizz on them in the middle of the public square. Girls are crazy.

Just smile at them. It's free.
    You'll feel better with yourself.
Why: Because you will feel you control your life and are capable of influence the world around you. Perhaps other men are capable of saying "Hi, I like this X you have" or shit, and get a number etc. but you are capable of smiling, so you are on some path at least.

So if you submissively lower your gaze to lock at your shoes like a slave under a master, you'll feel even worst if that was really possible, realizing how over its for you.

maybe you mistake those looks for annoyance?
i think that men who don't stare at every woman in public are quite rare, so it genuinely catches their attention when they realize you aren't staring at them like all other men do. not that it's a bad or good thing, idk.

I just don't care anymore. I've gone full creep mode. If I see a girl I think looks good I just stare right at her face as I walk past. If your visage pleases my brain then I will indulge myself. Don't like it? Walk away.
