I've been talking to a college girl (19) for a few weeks now, she knew I graduated already since we met but she assumed I was like 24 or 25. I told her I was only 20 recently and now she won't reply to my texts.
I know it could be a million other things but I feel like my age was a factor.

Ask her.
Text “are you put off by my age? or is it that I graduated earlier than most?
I’m just trying to figure out what went wrong”
If she says neither, she isn’t put off. Explain your circumstance - how you graduated so early, etc,.
>How old are you?
Lmao, he is talking about being intelligent. He is clearly, as he just said, 20 years old with a bachelors.
No OP, she just wanted something casual and you demonstrated you're not going to be on campus anymore.
I've already texted her 4 days ago asking to get lunch and haven't heard back, I'm not going to text again with no response
I said in the OP that I'm 20.
I started college very young and have a bachelor's and a master's in engineering, she knew I had a master's from the start but not how old I was.
How the frick do you get a master's in engineering by 20?
>a bachelor's and a master's in engineering
To me this just says either you’re rich, or deeply in debt, nothing about intelligence. Dedication, sure, and maybe maturity, but not necessarily intelligence. I know some pretty dumb people with degrees.
Did they finish both by 20 too?
One did. Most were later. But that's irrelevant to your intelligence.
Cope
>I'm intelligent but I act exactly the same as the dumbest shitposters
Nice self-own.
>I must keep coping
Heh
degrees have nothing to do with intelligence its jsut maknig homework, u were somehow allowed to skip school thats all.
Now I get it lol
Maybe she likes more mature guys, don't take it personal. And also, we don't have enough info.
Could have been something sent in the text convos as you mention you have been talking with her for a few weeks
Didn't you ask her out during that time?
that's intimidating, so yes.
maybe not bring that up so soon.
so should I have said nothing and let her find out on her own?
How old are you? You wrote
>Are girls put off by intelligence?
But I don't see how all this is related
No, the bulk of women find it very attractive on its own. Being an autist is deeply unattractive, though.
If you're a sociable, confident, and generally knowledgeable guy, women will be drawn to you. If you're a cripplingly shy aspie who memorizes encyclopedias as a hobby...not so much.
OP is implying he graduated early. Although she also could have assumed that OP graduated high school, if he didn't specify.
I'm not extremely confident but I'm not shy either (I did ask for her number after all) and I'm 5'11 with a good face so I'm not a total loser
That tends to happen when you start college at 12.
Oh its the bubble boy again lol
hey you remembered me
Oh frick you're back bubble boy. My read of this situation is that she isn't put off by your intelligence, but rather the implied childhood and socialization that comes with you going to college so young. Like I'm sure you heard in your last thread, your parents kind of fricked you socialization wise. You're leagues ahead of everyone else career and progress wise but socially you are stunted if you posting on this website is representative of your other behavior. People seek others who are balanced in life, or at least unbalanced in the same ways as themselves. I would at least act shy or a little nervous when mentioning your degrees and age next time, make sure you aren't coming off as arrogant or something which is hard.
>started college at 12
There's no fricking way.
I'm serious. I don't know how to prove it without doxxing myself but I'm serious
I believe it. Look up youngest ages of college entrance. OP has the rare combination of a high IQ and parents who are wealthy enough to send him to college early. Most people only have one of the two.
Erik Demaine did it with IQ alone
I have to ask, what is it about autistics knowing a lot about certain things that makes people hate us so much?
I don't even fricking wanna share the music I like with people because telling people about it and why I find it so impressive is apparently awful.
It's just the autism. not the things you like. If you can reasonably carry on a conversation and read the room, some subjects might tend to be boring to women, but they'll still like seeing a guy getting fired up about it.
I don't even know what is so wrong with autism outside of severe cases.
But of course I get the "can't even tell you're autistic" shit all the time.
It's not that it's the not being able to read social cues thing
It annoys women especially because they are used to communicating intuitively
What part of this involves intelligence?
Yes, most likely she is still in her hoe phase and will only consider you once she wants to settle down (assuming you have turned your brilliant intellect into a money making scheme by then).
I think it's the age, not the intelligence. She was probably looking for someone who has a few more years under the belt and already settled down somewhere that she can mooch off of, having all the ducks in a row and all that. Being a college grad is great and all, but at 20, she likely thought that you still live with your parents and use the family minivan to get around. Or she thinks you're lying about one or the other.
You really think that's the case? There's tons of guys I know in college that have gfs basically the same age as them
There's no way she thinks I'm lying, she follows me on insta and my grad pics are on there
I might have waited too long before asking her out but she started getting distant even before I asked
It's not that all women dislike guy's their own age, but there is a sizable proportion of them who prefer to date 5-10 years older than themselves, usually it comes from them feeling like they are more mature than guys their age. It also could be completely unrelated to any of this stuff and she literally just met a dude who is hotter, more charming, more "her type", etc. Maybe she thinks you are lying about your age, which would seem creepy. Unfortunately you will never know. Just don't internalize the rejection.
yeah like I said it could literally be a million different things
maybe I was too slow to ask her out and she lost interest, maybe she found someone else, maybe she was never interested and I was imagining it, etc
Alright I wanna fun of you, but I won't. Instead let me just tell you some real shit.
Women are going to spit on you for at least the next 4-5 years of your life. After that, they will take you more seriously. 25-30 is the gold zone for men. When you get there you will know, women WILL treat you differently. Right now is the time to focus on yourself and making yourself worth a woman's time, trust me bro, I know it's hard but you have to do it and it will pay off if you play your cards right.
No women aren't put off by intellect.
Intelligence good
Shitfeel bad
Try again but not needy or insecure.
There are various types of girls with different preferences. Some will find intelligence particularly attractive, others won't appreciate it as much. I don't see what that has to do with your situation though.
GIRLS CAN NOT POOP
First and foremost, absolutely not. Graduating early isn't necessarily reflective of your intelligence. The resources that were available to you are an important factor in that equation as well. It takes maturity to acknowledge your life circumstances and the abilities of those around you. Likewise, striving to be number one doesn't give you a realistic frame of reference to strive toward. Comparison is a beautiful thing when it is used properly.
Personally, I grew up in a rural town. There were no resources available to those who wished to strive beyond what their school district expected. I live in the PNW now and regularly see kids with 2.5 GPAs attending my college alongside their high school studies. They tend to be quite immature, close themselves off from other people, and use excessive amounts of AXE body spray.
Your average 16 year old is not capable of enrolling in a graduate program for engineering, lol man, stop the cope.
Source?
I teach maths at uni and the average 18 year old enrolled in an engineering course is barely capable of finishing an undergrad program.
I'm really sick of your lying, how about you prove your claims?
If you tell me a way to do that without doxxing myself, sure.
Fair enough, I just didn't think it would be an issue since I'm still older than she is and I wanted to see if anyone had any experience. You're right that my emotional maturity isn't up to par with my academics but that isn't really my fault, I had no friends in undergrad since I never lived on campus
damn okay
i assume youre sheldon cooper now
The girl is probably into older guys (for some arbitrary woman reason) and assumed you were one. she then realised you were not actually old, just a nerd.
Don't overthink the logical reasoning women go through.
The bottom line is, she's lost interest in you for some reason and you probably need to just move on.
By the way, thinking that women are put off by intelligence alone is moronic
>she then realised you were not actually old, just a nerd.
Also this, painfully this
It's probably your age, yeah. Even if you're a genius, you're still at or below the emotional equivalent of your age peers. This thread pretty much proves it.
I had people in high school (including some hot girls) idolize me because of my grades before they realized I'm a piece of shit. Maybe could've scored some if I wasn't that much of a virgin.
Intelligence is never a turn-off. Never.
I heard that a few times in this thread, I guess she either just wasn't interested and was just being a friend or my age was a putoff
I'm getting better at it though, I'm going to a party on saturday and she'll be there
I wasn't bragging about it either, I only told her cause one of her friends said I looked young for a grad
I guess I have another question, should I say anything about this to her on saturday or should I just pretend like nothing happened?
They find it boring in my experience. All those twitter memes about “when he talks about his passions” is bs
Jokes on you, someone with intelligence would know already
She assumed you were older and that was fine to her but when you told her you weren't that old it's suddenly a problem?
She's got issues you might want to avoid
Women like older men OP. Don't fret to much about it your time will come.
It's probably less about the intelligence part and more about the age.
Honestly, if I were messaging a guy and he said he had his master's at 20, I'd think he was lying. Whether he's lying about his age or the degrees would be a toss-up though. It's not something to be ashamed of or anything, but definitely something to be aware of.
Imo, avoid bringing it up without proper context, and present yourself with your age first instead of your qualifications.
I didn't bring it up like that see
, and there's no way she thinks I'm lying all she would have to do is look my name up
The problem is everyone introduces themselves with what year they are so I always have to say "yeah I graduated already"
you're a liar OP
yeah if you understand how they want to manipulate you it doesnt work as well
NEXT!
