No. I always thought that circumcision was kind of pointless from the get go as my mom was a nurse in a maternity ward and saw the after effects of numerous circumcisions. She was of the belief that if you're born with something and its working correctly then dont mess with it. I grew up evangelical christian, and evangelicals are in love with the idea of circumcision, and as such there were tons of wives tales about when/how/why you should get your boys circumcised. There was a family that whenever someone was pregnant they would have an in depth discussion about why circumcision, specifically on the 8th day after birth, was important.

My mom told me that the reason why serious complications are more common on infants than adult (ie needing amputation or death) is because of the fact that the penis is so small, and the fact that they generally eyeball what needs to get removed, resulting in wildly different cuts.
